PMS Fantasy Football - League Rules
Many of the rules listed here include standard rules as outlined on ESPN, where our league is hosted.
Cases where our rules differ, or have additional clarifications from those at ESPN will be noted with
1. The Draft
1.1 Each team will draft a roster of players at the following positions:
1 Quarterback
2 Running Backs
3 Receivers (can be Wide Receiver or Tight End)
1 Kicker
1 Defense/Special Teams (this is a 'team' rather than player)
8 reserves (any positions, observing the QB limitation in section 1.3)
1.2 The order of the draft will reverse every other round, (whoever drafts first in round 1 drafts last in round 12, etc.)
1.3 During the draft, you cannot draft more than 2 quarterbacks. You can add a third during the season, (through a trade, or picking up one not yet on a roster), and you can never have more than 3 QBs on your roster.
2. Scoring
2.1 Each player in your starting lineup will receive points using the following schedule:
Quarterbacks, Running Backs, Receivers:
4 points for every passing touchdown
6 points for every rushing touchdown
6 points for every receiving touchdown
1 point for every passing 2-pt conversion
2 points for every rushing 2-pt conversion
2 points for every receiving 2-pt conversion
1 point for every 20 yards passing
1 point for every 10 yards rushing
1 point for every 10 yards receiving
-2 points for every interception thrown
Note: Yardage is not rounded up, and rushing and receiving yards are not combined, (i.e. a player that gains 58 rushing yards and 29 receiving yards, will get 7 points).
Kickers:
3 points for a field goal 0-39 yards
4 points for a field goal 40-49 yards
5 points for a field goal 50-59 yards
1 point for a 1-pt conversion
Defense / Special Teams:
6 points for a kickoff return TD
6 points for a punt return TD
6 points for a fumble return TD
6 points for a blocked kick returned for a TD
2 points for a safety
10 points for keeping the opponent to 0 points
7 points for keepting the opponent to 1-6 points
4 points for keepting the opponent to 7-13 points
1 point for keeping the opponent to 14-17 points
2.2 If a non-playoff game ends in a tie, it is a tie. There are no tie-breakers.
2.3 If a playoff game ends in a tie, the winner is the home team, based on the playoff seedings, (home team is higher seeded team).
3. Playoffs
3.1 The following criteria will be used to determine three divisional winners, and one wild card team:
1) Best overall W-L record
2) Best head-to-head record (provided all teams involved in the tie played each other the same number of games)
3) Best W-L record within their division
4) Total ponts scored
5) Coin flip
3.2 The first playoff week will pit the first seeded divisional winner at home against the wild card team, and the second seeded divisional winner at home against the third seeded divisional winner.
3.2.1 If the wild card team is in the same division as the top seeded divisional winner, then the second seeded divisional winner will be at home against the wild card, and the top seeded divisional winner will be at home against the third seeded divisional winner.
4. Rosters & Lineups
4.1 During the draft, you are limited to two quarterbarcks. You can pick up a third during the season, but you can never have more than three.
4.2 You can freely move players back and forth between your starting lineup and your bench with no cost.
4.3 The deadline to set your starting lineup is SUNDAY, 10:00am PACIFIC TIME! ESPN does not have an option for this. For earlier games, (Thursday, Saturday, pre-dawn European games, etc.)
you can still change your lineups after those games have started, provided none of the players you are moving belong to those teams. However, if you make any roster moves or lineup changes after the SUNDAY, 10:00am PACIFIC TIME deadline, they will be manually backed out. The ONLY exception, is if for some reason you cannot reach the site. In this case, I will
retroactively make the change as long as I am notified by the SUNDAY, 10:00am PACIFIC TIME!. Please, no other exceptions.
4.4 COVID rule. If a player on your team has their game cancelled and/or postponed to a different week, your top scoring reserve at that position will have his points counted instead.
This is ONLY for teams that have had their games postponed to a different week AFTER the Sunday, 10:00am Pacific Time deadline, (preventing you from being able to make the change yourself). If the game is officially postponed before that, it is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct players in your starting lineup by the deadline.
If you have no players on your bench at that position that play that week, you get no points for that slot. Only reserves can be used for this spot, you will not be able to pick up unclaimed players as the deadline will have passed.
5. Transactions
5.1 Transactions (either by picking up unclaimed players, or trading with another team) cost $4 per player received.
5.2 Transactions must be player transactions only. No cash, draft positions, player-to-be-named-later transactions, etc.
5.3 No inter-team trades can take place after week 10.
5.4 No unclaimed players can be picked up after week 14.
5.5 If you trade away a player in an inter-team trade, that player cannot return to your team for the remainder of the year.
5.6 ESPN's waiver wire process is used when multiple people try to claim the same unclaimed player during the same week (see ESPN for details on how this process works).
6. Fees and Prizes
6.1 Fees:
$140 Entry Fee
$4 Transaction fee (for each player received)
6.1.1 The money from transactions is added to the prize pool, 1/8th to the four teams that made the playoffs, and top four overall points. (Yes, this is combined, so if you were one of the top four overall scoring teams AND made the playoffs, you would get 1/4 of the transaction fees).
